getting ready to order parts to overhaul my first a904, done lots of over models. anyways, looking into the performance kit for Oregon transmission parts, it has read clutches and keyrline steels.. thinking of using the Kevlar low /reverse band it is a double wrap I need. and going to install a mild shift kit, the main questions, have anyone ever modified the front pump for a vent tube to go out side of the bell housing? that way doesn't leak. and is the sonex billet servos worth the money? I have aluminum factor no plastic. and the performance low sprag all ready is steel, not plastic. should do fine for just hot street car right? never built up Chrysler trans before. has a add on cooler, and deep pan already, and secondary filter outside in line to cooler, thinking around 2200-2500 rpm stall converter. hot 318 high compression, nos, 340 cam shaft, 3.50 gears, 28" tires @3000-3500 lbs car. does that sound about right? also the performance converters no ring gear, need to use a custom flex plate? is for 318 6 bolt I believe it was.... stock 1973 crank. just putting feelers out there before I drop the cash on junk not needed. thanks guys... alos all ready have the 4.2 kick down lever, may add hd band strut?

I don't quite get your comment on "performance converters, no ring gear". Any converter for the 904/727 stock or performance will have a ring gear on them. Some models of Jeep are the exception.
As far as parts for the 904 go, there are lots of places to buy from. If you order the right converter from a reputable builder, there is no need to get any special flex plate. The stock Chrysler one has worked behind millions of cars just fine and dandy.
As far as what stall you need, supply your converter builder with all information on what has been done to the engine, what the rear axle ratio is, etc., and don't bs him on your information. Give him the wrong info and the converter will not be right. With the addition of NOS, the converter will need extra work done inside it. Typically the company I worked for made the converter extra HD when NOS was added. I've got nothing against any of the big parts suppliers if I was to order a basic street converter, however, for a true performance converter go right to the builder. There are a number of good converter builders, Hughes, ATI, PTC, T.C.S. etc. that can build a converter for your specific needs. At all costs, AVOID buying a used conveter.
