May 30 American Graffiti film and Celebration
The Historic State Theatre will show the film American Graffiti, at 12:30 & 3:30 p.m., to honor George Lucas whose roots in our town go deep. There will be great prizes for best costumes….come dressed as your favorite character from the film. Enjoy giveaways and root beer floats for this annual blast to the past. May 30 Modesto Auto Showcase Classic
Come enjoy the car show, food and live music by The Pendletons. Admission to this event is free. All cars welcome; American to Foreign, from projects to finished, rat rods to trailer queens. Pre registration car entry $10, includes $5 food voucher. Registration day of the event $10. Modesto Auto Center, 1400 N. 9th Street, Modesto. June 2 - July 3 Graffiti Summer Art Show
The Mistlin Art Gallery presents a celebration of Modesto's "Graffiti Years" during the 1950's and early 1960's, when cruising, rock music, and drive-in diners were all the rage and our ties to George Lucas' hit film "American Graffiti", which documents Modesto's early, innocent years. June 7 Graffiti Classic Car Show
Modesto Area Street Rod Association’s 4th annual classic car show, this year including PT Cruisers. Raffles all day long, over 25 vendors, music by the “Hot Rod Band” from Santa Cruz. Event to be MC’d by Gene Adams. 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Modesto Junior College West Campus 2201 Blue Gum Ave. Free admission to spectators. Car entry fee $25 - includes lunch for two. June 9 Grease is the Word
Join the Galaxy Theatre in Riverbank for a showing of the film Grease! The film begins at 7:00 pm and at $2.50 a ticket, Grease is the word ... Come early and check out the festivities and classic cars in the parking lot. Galaxy Theatre, 2525 Patterson Road, Riverbank.


June 11 Moband Concert in the Park
PEEL OUT! With the first concert of Moband's annual summer concerts in the park. Spread out your blankets, bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the sounds of Moband. Admission is free and the concert begins at 8:00 pm at Graceada Park, get there early and enjoy.

June 12 Grease, the sing-along version!
After the North Modesto Kiwanis Car Parade, park your classic car across the street from the historic State Theatre, 1307 J St., and enjoy a draught beer while watching the movie Grease, the 1978 musical sensation starring Olivia Newton-John, John Travolta and Stockard Channing. Sing along to “You’re The One That I Want,” “Hopelessly Devoted To You,” and more in the air-conditioned comfort of Modesto’s only remaining movie palace. June 12-14 American Graffiti Car Show and Festival
This 11th Annual event is presented by the North Modesto Kiwanis. Friday night, June 12 will once again feature the Classic Car Parade Downtown. The car show is Saturday June 13 Sunday June 14 at the Modesto Junior College East Campus, 435 College Ave. Saturday will feature special guest George Barris “King of Kustomizers” in the ARC Audio Alley. His famous designs include, the Batmobile, Grease lightning (Grease), The General Lee (Dukes of Hazzard), the Muenster Coach and much more. At the MJC East Campus, 435 College Ave.

June 13 Graffiti Summer Concert: See the Soundtrack
A great musical experience, see the soundtrack come to life on-stage, as top groups such as The Diamonds, Bill Hayley’s Comets, The Teenagers Tribute Groups, The Clovers Tribute Group and American Gold Band perform some of the greatest hits as seen on the iconic film, American Graffiti. Come and enjoy classic hits such as “Why Do Fools Fall In Love,” Love Potion #9,” “Sixteen Candles,” “At the Hop,” “That’ll Be the Day,” “Come Go With Me” and much more! 50's-60's displays in the lobby and classic cars. Put on your best poodle skirt and come join the fun. 8:00 pm at the Gallo Center for the Arts.

Celebrate Motown with a variety of bands and classic hits performed by the Legends of Classic Soul Band, Peaches & Herb (Reunited), The Original Elgins (Uncle Sam's Man), Sam Cooke Tribute (You Send Me), Temptations Tribute -Best Intentions and Supremes tribute - Symply Supreme.
