Just curious if anyone has ever used the $200 eBay sure grip 8 3/4 carrier and if so was it a POS or did it work as it should.... Trying to decide if it's worth converting this 741 open chunk I have with 323 gears on it

Failed hopes and dreams. LMAO. You ain't right. Sad thing is, you probably are. People don't stop to think if there are clear imperfections on the outside, what's the metal density like? Air pockets galore, I bet if you sectioned one into pieces. One of THOSE anyway. The ones Dr Diff sells come from China too, but they look a LOT better.

Hey, if the guy's still happy with it, he's happy with it. The bolts that hold the rocket to the launchpad are the first thing to break and don't contribute to the flight at all, but if they last until the right moment, then they're "good"!

I have used 2 with problems only being cheap looking bolts. Friend said the bolts should be ok for my use.
This is one of 3 i got. Other 2 looked fine. All has same bolts and machining. Bearings fit no problems.
Note) had to edit to state no problems. Not problems. I left out no like an idiot pecking at key board

Still limited to how well I can type. I have nerve damage in left arm /hand
And can't use right shoulder, arm or hand due to recent surgery.
So my left side has to do and it's not all together good.
As far as the China made PowrLok
The machine work on the ones I got looked ok. And posted 2 pictures above. The bolts look cheap.
If I was going to track use it instead of street I would use better bolts. I think they are fine for street as is. That is after checking them out
My friend is setting one up for me right now.
Putting one in a very low mile 741 case 276.
Figured be better than an open 276 one. Obviously the 276 just needs one when raining ect. Or a moment of stupidity comes into play.
The one pictured above is going in a 742 323 for all around use.
I have factory Dana Powrlok rebuilt for my deeper 410 and 430.
I am sure the China ones are all over the place on quality and as stated some are all out seconds.
For light duty street the better machined China should be OK.
Just like China heads ( and Eddie's)should be checked.
Nothing is bolt on anymore

I'm no Dr. Diff fanboy but if he goes through it, I'd trust it a helluva lot more than some eBay unit. What's the cost difference?

Exactly so; Anyone making enough power to harm one should not be running a 8 3/4" anyways.
I have an 8 3/4" in my GTX; you won't hear me whining when it comes apart as I know it's on borrowed time with a healthy 440 and manual trans. I have a Dana waiting in the wings but the damn thing refuses to die.
