are all seats created equal?

So i was wondering are the 70-72 buckets from an A.B, and E body the same physical seat? i know tracks are different but could i take a B body seat and recover it with an A body cover and be good to go?

70 & 71 all use about the same foam so if you want to recover for a 70 or 71 a body those will work. 72 are about the same and depending on the model you could recover a 72 seat for a 72 a-body. All of the internal frames are the same and new foam can be purchased to match the year cover you want to put on regardless of original car. Things like the backs and latch covers differ from year to year but will work with any cover.
