BB stroker 6bbl dyno saga………thoughts??

Just past halfway thru', but praying it's a roller, or it's probably taps for the cam.....

I’ve never seen the guy look at a spark plug or do lash loops or anything.

I watched it. I got frustrated when he would start the engine and let it struggle.

Probably didn’t hurt anything but why?

Any system running injectors that require the TB's be grounded to function is a hard pass for Me, ...
The 5+ohms at the battery,....really? More like voltage was going thru' something that was energized to ground on the other side of the resistance near the TB's, which shows up as increased resistance to the neg. post, I've used this technique to switch upstream devices off when a downstream one is activated.
Blaming Al-U-minimum for poor conduction, .....maybe coated/chrome fasteners & coated/non-metallic composite gasket surfaces, but "it's not the best conductor for electric"??????....but greasy cast iron & tin-plated terminals are....lolol...

watching this hurts... i don't get the caveman thing that FI is bad... FI is amazing.. i have used it and love it. Him blaming everything on the FI is BS... also.. don't diag ****, just keep cranking. I just don't want FI on my old car cause i can't stand how it looks.. and all the wiring..

That intake looks powdercoated.. so the gaskets insulate it from the block and the bolts aren't breaking the powder coating... bad ground.. must be the FI

Because a decent carb will beat its ***.

Let’s be honest. For EFI to make power you end up with most of the **** guys whine about carbs.

i'm fine with that and i use a carb... but the whole hating efi thing for no reason other than they don't understand it is silly... also blaming efi cause they didn't know the intake wasn't grounded is nuts...

Also.. guys making 4000hp and driving on the street is because of efi... it has it's place :)

Fixed it......

There’s def a lot to absorb from that video.

One thing I found kinda funny was how no one understood what was going on with the instructions for locking out an MSD distributor, and the whole “rotate it 180*” thing.

I’m not an EFI guy…….my personal experience is limited to one unit(which works great), but it sure seems like it would be better to have the wiring for the injectors supply the voltage and the ground, instead of relying on grounding thru the throttle body.

It hurt my head..... I don't get why the phasing was so far out.. that should have been fixable without a special rotor? Watching him get mad was kinda funny though... GRRR!!! FI BAD!!

lol he was dropping a few F bombs. I’ve never seen him do that before.

I found that funny though.

My main issue is... If i heard that pop through the intake, i wouldn't have kept trying to run it.. there is a timing issue/timing order or something seriously wrong inside... they keep cranking it thing.. man that kills my head when people do that...

Youtube guys do that "This car has sat for 30 years.... lets see if it runs" then just crank til the starter smokes

Do the EFI six pak secondaries hit like a real six pak?

For the uninitiated when a properly tuned six pak hits it's secondaries it's a wild time, hold on

Me too.

This was as bad as that Hemi video.
ohhhhh i finally saw the second Hemi video last night... and man..i hope RAMM didn't see it..... they **** on that motor bad.. basically said he's full of ****.. but they don't know his name... so.. but still

OK.. i do have a phasing question for you guys... i understand a bit about rotor phasing from reading up as i'm bout to work on the curve on my motor... BUT... with that setup if the phasing was off, since it's fired by the fitech shouldn't they have been able to just adjust the signal delay in the fitech electronics? not need a special rotor?

No. The throttle bodies are not progressive on the outside carbs. 1:1 type linkage.

They could have chose the option to not have the fitec control the timing and the phasing would have been what it was originally with the distributor, locked or unlocked with should have been fine. That should have lead them to the problem being the phasing with the fitec controlling timing. If they followed the phasing procedure in the instructions they didn't show it in the video. I think they may have skipped over that part.

The first 1:40 I had heard enough to know it wasn’t going to go well. “I believe it’s a stroker, I don’t know the stroke or the cubic inch of this engine, I don’t know what cam is in it”. Here we go.
