My bodyman is afraid the frame on my car might be bent. I'm taking him my body service manual so he can measure it. If the frame is bent a small amount, how big of a deal is it to have the frame straightened? What is the price for a procedure like this?

What makes him think it's bent? Car ever been in a major accident? Usually there's a fee to set it on the frame bench n measure it , be it right or wrong, usually a set fee to measure it. Then it's just man hours to push pull it straight. If it's never been in an accident and never had major HP behind it, It's probably not bent.

I clipped a 16' trailer with the front passenger side fender. Hit the trailer right on my headlight. I had just turned a corner and definitely wasnt going any faster than 20 mph. It crunched my inner fender and pulled my core support back a bit. The accident caused my drivers side fender to be knocked out of alignment. He has removed the passenger side inner fender and was seeing if he could line up the drivers side fender. He says its not lining up quite right and it made him nervous about the frame.

my dad does frame repair for his job/career, expect to be paying alot, he charges 45/hour and we are in sd, which is a 'cheaper' state. Alot of people say o i just need a lil pull...99.9% of the time, its a more. When my wagon got into an accident, my dad pulled it out and fixed the fender way more then i ever though he would, i was very pleased. But it is a expensive task to do if you are paying someone (i got lucky).

good luck on your fix, and make sure you have a trusted body man, there are alot of 'hacks' around :silent: :thumblef:

I just had the frame on one of my cars pulled. ( brand x) full framed car and the fender - door lines were off by about three inches at the bottom, cost me $175

That's me, the genius that hit a parked trailer. I'm finally to the point of getting it fixed and painted and all put back together. We are gonna measure it all tonight but just in case he has found a shop that will straighten the frame. They quoted him $110 if it takes less than 3 hours and more if it takes longer. I just hope it's straight.

cant tell about prices but if there is someone who realy knows what he is doing straightening the car it will get real straight, my car hit a volvo amzon many years back in time and the volvo was totaly destroyed and most people would have put the duster on the junkyard but this guy who owned the car at that point took it to someone who realy knows his stuf and got it straightend and its still the best handling muscle car i have ever driven!
