Got a friend who has a low deck big block, casting number 3614230-1 dated 7 1171 that supposed is supposed to be a 400 which came out of a 71 Chrysler. Can anyone confirm that it's what he thinks it is?

the casting number comes back as a 400 so the car has to be a 72 year model car which may have been built very early in the 72 model year. The model year starts in the summer around August 1 give or take a few weeks. The engines are built before the cars were. so that engine was made for a 72 model year car that was built sometime in august or sept. of 71.
The 400 replaced the 383 starting in the 72 model year.
