Ok so i'm looking for a good and easy Bourbon Ball recipe.Post em up what you got........................Thanks Jeff

from the Commander's Palace cookbook. Bourbon balls and bread pudding are the only recipes from this cookbook I ever made...they are good and super easy.

In a bowl, combine 2 1/2 cups crushed vanilla wafer crumbs, 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, 1 cup confectioners sugar, and 1 cup chopped pecans. Stir in 3 tablespoons corn syrup and 1/4 cup bourbon.

Form into 1 inch balls and roll in confectioner's sugar to coat. Refrigerate.

Not to jump in but my wife wants to make these! What type of vanilla wafer do you use the cookies? or a wafer?

The Nabisco cookies called 'Nilla are what I always use. Don't use a bargain brand.

That is how Ernie makes rum balls, she is going to try making them with this chocolate vodka that she likes......you can of course up the booze content if you so desire....

Old Navy recipe, circa 1950's. Thanks Dad.

1-1/2 cups rolled vanilla wafers
2 Tbsp white Karo syrup
2 Tbsp cocoa
1/2 cup ground pecans
1/4 cup bourbon

Mix together and roll into 3/4" to 1" balls, then roll in powdered sugar
Place in a closed container and age a few weeks.

While digging out that recipe I found this one. It's very good too and sort of a "virgin" recipe

Pecan balls

1 cup finely chopped pecans
1 cup flour
1 stick of soften butter
1 tsp vanilla
3 Tbsp sugar

Cream butter and sugar
Add flour, nuts and vanilla
Roll into 1" balls and bake on un-greased pan for 15 minutes @ 350
Roll in powdered sugar while still hot
Cool before storing

You guys have alot of balls to post this here... LOL!

They sound delicious.

heres my version,1 cup crushed nills wafers the round cookie one,1 cup chopped pecans,2 tablespoons cocoa powder,2teaspoons cinnamon,1/4 cup bourbon,1 1/2 tablespoons light corn syrup,1 cup confectioners sugar.mix first 4 ingrediants in bowl. mix next 2 in another bowl, comine with the dry ingrediants, form into balls.roll in sugar, store in airtight container until ready to enjoy.

I just made a batch of the Commander's Palace recipe. By the way, the 2 1/2 cups of "'Nilla" wafers equals one whole box. A food processer would really help for crushing up the cookies and chopping the pecans, but I don't have one. Makes 2 1/2 dozen. And yes it is best to let them cure in the refrigerator at least overnight. Great to bring to get-togethers.
