The originals did indeed have the cross wires in the burlap. I contacted Legendary Interiors and they said they were not needed as the foam is much better than the original. I agree, the seats are much firmer than they were, which I find much better.

Imagine the extra firmness with them! I am not Nocking Legendary at all, There products are Top Notch! MY 69 FISH was restored with nothing but! Mopar knew Better though and do not leave them out
JMO! I can give you some alternatives to replace the factory wires!
 
For anyone who's interested, the Seat Medallions for the '71 Dart are the EXACT SAME as the '68-'69 Roadrunners, just installed horizontally instead of vertically and are available in very nice reproductions from various sources.

JMO! I can give you some alternatives to replace the factory wires!
I used burlap over the springs then the foam on top of that in lieu of the burlap with infused wire. My bench seat had burlap with wire over the springs but the buckets I took apart had foam directly on top of the seat frame. The foam over time started to slip through the springs. by adding the burlap, that should prevent that from happening
