Looking for the BIG length 8-3/4” rear found in the C-bodies from the 68-72’ range or the pickup 1/2 ton same age range.

I’m trying to find this rear axle with in a close range to Connecticut.
All I want is housing, axles and a center chuck. I can take it from there. Brakes are a bonus. I want to convert the 5x5.5 bolt circles(current axle) to 5x4.5 bolt circle for a better selection of rims.

Thank you,
Syleng1

I have several truck housings and truck axle shafts. No center sections for sale currently. I also have several C Body Housings and C Body axle shafts

I have a C Body in florida, I get pretty good shipping rates to a business address if you want to send a business zip code i'll see what I can do for you

I have B, 68-70 and 71-72 , C and E Danielsville Pa, Housings and axles . Backing plates and drums . and some centers. I don't sell 742's . There is a 489 323 clutch sure grip here Just got it and a 489 391 cone style. I may have a truck housing out of a 72 150 . There are some High ratio 742's here 276 294 323.

Current ratio in the van (8-1/4) is 3.08
(Could be 3:00) I just bought an overdrive a518 for it.
So going 3:23 would be not a huge difference. I also just now found out the axles can be drilled for the small bolt pattern. I may go that route. It’s a street van. Not looking for 1/4 mile stuff I do with my cars.

Keep me posted as your about 1/2 hour above Allentown. Like 5hrs away. My oldest daughter lives in Lancaster so a visit is a few weeks away.
Thank you,
Joe

Every c body 8-3/4 I have ever seen is 5 on 4-1/2 already, nothing to convert there

Fyi.. Truck and van rear ends pre 85 are the 5 on 4.5 lug bolt pattern unless someone changed them. I'm not positive vans are the same rear axle width as the half ton trucks, but you still have a lot of options. Just match 8.25 Chrysler 10 bolt and measure the bolt pattern you'll be golden. Pre 96 8.25 axles are 27 spline. If you have a Chrysler 12 bolt 9.25 they are all 31 spline axles. Happy hunting

To convert a van 8.25 from 5.5” bolt pattern to 4.5”, I’m pretty sure that you could get the axles and drums from a 71-84 van. Probably would be cheaper than getting yours redrilled.
