Change painted drip rails and window frames to polished/chrome?

My '73 Valiant came from the factory with painted window frames, b-pillar and drip rails. I want to change to up to the chrome/polished versions. From what I can see on my car, everything is welded in place. What will I need to do in order to change these out?

Strip off the paint and polish the hell out of it? Are the frames and rails different parts entirely, or does the bright trim clip on? :?
