Do you know what this is?
Give up?
This is the a chunk of a 360 crank, the rear flange to the back of the #7 journal.

Just in defense of the offender, the motor had been go through before the current owner got it and the crank had been welded on for some reason and that is were it broke. Being a welder myself, I know the correct process to weld cast iron. This was welded in a hill billy way and then turned down to size.

To show the greatness of Mopar, the crank was the only thing was screwed up. Block, connecting rods, pistons, everything else was just fine. The crank started to break after leaving a stop, which through something out of whack with the computer, then it admittedly shut off. It completely broke when we trying to re-fire it. Up until the crank was removed, we thought it was either starter or flex plate related. After replacing the starter, that did not fix it. The odd thing about it was that when turned the front of the crank with the wrench, the flywheel/flex plate would rotate as well.

It turned itself into a V6. :drinkers:

With the 5.9 Magnum being as popular as it is and with so many sources to purchase a new crank, why the hell would someone weld one? Were not talking about an old Allison or Merlin engine here that you almost have to repair because you can't find a replacement... Crazy

Must have came out of McGyvers truck and he didn't use enough nickle filings when he welding it.
