Cleaning Pie Tin

Having a challenge getting a new pie tin, so will be reusing the original. The decal is worn out I have a new one, so the question is how do I clean the old decal off without damaging the pie tin?

i know that they make adhesive remover sticker removal stuff that works on windows. maybe that??? if not i would just get like 2000 grit sandpaper and go over it a couple hundred times gently so you don't scratch the metal that deeply. OR just get it sandblasted.

How about paint stripper. Is it a decal or painted on? Either way it will loosen it.

Some original air cleaners had a thin aluminum "pie tin" that sat on top of the air cleaner. The pie tin identified the engine and carburetor, i.e. 340 Four Barrel.
