Clutch / Brake assembly

How does this mess come out..? I just want to clean, paint and install the firewall insulation.

I've had mine in and out about 10 times in the last month while converting from an auto to a manual. Unhook the linkage for the clutch and brake pushrods and the wiring for the brakelight switch. Then remove the 4 bolts at the firewall holding the brake master on, and two bolts up by the dash/steering column and it should come right out. My auto one also had a reinforcement plate on the right side that was up high with another couple bolts on it, but the manual pedals I replaced it with did not have this bracket or a way to attach it.
