Getting ready to do a paint job on the Dart. Doesn't look that bad in the picture, but it is pretty wavy and has a ton of dings and bumps. Color is going to be the same 1971 Gold Poly.

Question....on the hood, your opinions. (besides scrap the cowl hood...LOL)

Flat Black
Gloss Black
Same color as body

First off...... Is that a Nova? lol

Ok, I like having options so:

Paint the hood Body Color.

This will allow you to spray on a black "Plasti Dip", if you want it black, and you can peal the "Plasti Dip" off if you want it gold again.

So on and so on......

No reason to get locked into one choice anymore.

Why do you have such a tall scoop...do you need it for clearence? If so, how about a six pack scoop on a flat black hood and keep it all mopar. Or put the 70 style dual scoop hood on it, you can still blackout the center.

I like the cowl hood . I would do the 71 demon 340 hood stripe in ford blackout. Its what I used on my duster. That would give it color around the front and up the middle of the cowl but the hood would look black from the sides.

Just a thought I had for my demon. Cowls have less drag then scoops. And let the air out from under the hood that gets trapped coming in the grille. One reason my car doesn't have the rear hood seal. I Lift the back of the hood when raced
