I'm over at my buddies house this morning and brought over my comp solid roller lifters.
I pulled one out for him to see, he grabbed another and said WTF is this.
It had no pushrod seat in the body, so I checked the rest of them and found another one.
WTF is wrong with people these days.

with seat.

without.

They have really gone downhill the last five years and
had some management changes.

I use only Clay Smith Cams anymore.

Engines are way too expensive to gamble on questionable
parts!

MY .02 = For Free!

Funny thing is we waited on the phone to get someone to talk to for over 10 minutes.
While we were waiting, we said they're talking to people with lifters missing pushrod seats lol.
I'll talk to comp tomorrow and see how they want to fix it. Problem I see is I'll never trust these parts.

Edlebrock got involved with comp, that when I started seeing changes. I still have never had an issue personally though.

With the 829 lifters(if that’s what you have), the pushrod seat is a separate piece.
Did you look thru the box to see if it just came out?
All that holds it in is some friction from an o-ring.

Yes, I pulled out the entire packaging. Yes 829 lifters.

I still use comp, the most recent engine I built has a comp hyd roller in it, and I have to say they’ve been great to me. I also like the argument that they really are the largest supplier of valvetrain stuff in the game so it’s obvious they’ll have more issues than others. If comp sells 100,000 cams in a year and has 200 come back, is that worse than Isky selling 2000 cams and having 50 come back?

Absolutely still not an excuse for lifters missing parts.

I agree with all of that.

Engine builder degreed my comp hyd roller this week and had to advance it quite a bit to get it to the recommended ICL.
The evolution hyd roller lifters look good he says.

You should see their boxes of solid lifters they sell... they're all dinged up on the faces most of the time you have to send a few back and get replacements

That’s more in the timing set usually than the camshaft.
