In the process of assembling a cone type sure grip for my 8 3/4 and like a dumb *** I didn't take a pic before taking it apart. My question pertains to the spring plates which have raised tabs, I'm unsure if these tabs are supposed to align with the window or not as I have it assembled in the pic provided. My logic wants to tell me that the tabs function is too divert or split the stream of incoming gear oil. Anybody familiar with these? My assembly is currently stalled on this project and I couldn't find any definitive images on the web.

***** Also thinking maybe those tabs are there to help stabilize the spring and limit the collapse.

Rusty Rat Rod has a rebuild thread how to in tech section. Might wanna check that out, just sayin.

Thank you for the link and thank you Rusty for the tech. Although the spring plate placement wasn't alluded too I do believe that I can see it in the pic. I was also kinda scratching my head on the spline alignment and now that is clear too.
Wooooohooo !!!
Thanks
