Has anyone ever bolted a a Dakota rearend into a 1965 Barracuda? Old Tired Rebel was telling me about this. maybe the 87-90 ,models?

Everything I have read says the Dakota rear end is approximately 6 inches wider than our a-bodies rear ends are. There is also two rear ends in a Dakota. One is the light weight 7 1/4 that is used behind most four cylinders and the other is an 8 1/4.

Actually the bigger Dakota rear is an 8-3/8" and yes they are about 6" wider. Spring pads are also in a diffrent location.
