I ordered new carpet for the fold down rear seat.
It came with vinyl material sewn around the edges.
My original carpet came with a serged edge, black sewn thread,

This is what the new one looks like,

What am I missing?
Was there a change to the seat over the years?
Mine is a 1976 model.

I have never seen one not serged.
I bought bulk carpet and had it done. Most places that do interior can't donit. A place local to me did mine. I bought carpet there to get bound and serged as well as fringed for 45 years in my line of work.
Did you look at my thread on this?

Other things you have different:
Soft or Hard(ABS) Jack Cover? Same year car as mine but different plant we had different ones. Same for
Cardboard Rear Tail Lamp Cover or ABS?
Bumperettes chrome and rubber or all rubber
Both cars same year had different ones.

Is the carpet even the same? The old one looks like loop pile while the new one looks like cut pile.
I was ready to buy a gold 73 Dart 340 Sport but my Dad wanted me to get the 74 Challenger instead. A friend ended up buying it and as I remember, it had the cut pile carpet in it. I had forgotten all about that until now.

My Fold Down Seat Trunk Pictures

As you can see both cut pile and 80/20 loop was used . So when seat and divider was folded it matched what it was next to. Any place that Comercialy does binding and fringe should also do serge
Might not be cheap. Done by liner foot. Best to have it ready to go or you will pay for that too. Plus only you know true shape needed even with old pattern. They also have high quality synthetic horse hair pad to go under it. Use landau vinyl top adhesives
Same adhesives for vinyl to innstalls.

No its not the same.
But they don't get you a choice.
The ACC carpet set is cut pile also, so with this kit they would all match.
Which is better, I do not know.
It's no show car.

@340six I did look at your pictures before, very nice!
I get confused when you say loop and plush.
All Legendary says is Cut Pile.
Here is the picture from their web site.
