My door doesn't close all the way even with adjustment. It looks like somebody has been playing with it as the plate for the screws is missing and the wrong screws were half arsed installed. I made a new plate. The striker is about 1 1/4" long. Does anybody have a measurement on a correct one ('70 A body)?

Here's mine from my 70 Dart 340 Swinger. It's considerably longer than yours. If my back holds out, I can get more pics, if needed! Rick
Thanks Rick! That confirms my suspicion that the PO installed an incorrect striker ….for some odd reason.
