Time to put years of blah blah blah - not behind us, but in front of us right on the track! Both 1/2 ton long bed Dodge trucks with 318 2bbl's. Put up or shut up! Far distant cousin of seed truck vs Grandson of seed truck. Call it "Family Affair"...

I like the hubcaps and mud flaps, good period look. IIRC, the trucks with an NP435 trans usually start on the street in 2nd gear. So you have one less shift = winner. I had an 85 Ramcharger w an NP435. Miss it a bit.

yes, I like his truck. Ramchargers with granny lows are pretty rare...

The newer one is going to weigh more, and may have higher gears.
Is the '73 lighter? Interesting, I was thinking they were the same body... I think his has a 8.75, mine 8.25, so I'd be a little lighter there... I suppose his 4 speed would be lighter than a 727

Hmmmm , this thread is 2 days old and only 4 posts?? Not the usual banter going on here. Someone gone snowmobiling and eating cheeseburgers???
It's why I posted it in the jokes and funny stuff section... LOL. Instead of ping-pong'n back and forth on NOS, Dusters, 10's for 5k, and the rest of the blah blah blah, we could dump some comments here :)

My new seed truck, It was a xmas present to myself, and its paid 4 with only 500 miles yet. 6.4 Bighorn, 8'

That's amazing they were using the NP 435 in 1985. I always thought that was a very early transmission. Mine has a slant six/ NP 435 and 8.75 rear..... it's a 70.

Yeah, I thought it was an odd combination at the time. 318 with 3.21's in a 9 1/4 and Dana 44 in front. Think it was a 208 transfer case. If I remember correctly, the owner manual mentioned starting in 2nd for normal driving. I bought it for $200.- in '93 from a guy who thought it had a bad motor. Turns out the timing was 180* out. Drove it for many years. Sold it to a guy who let it sit and it rusted, he scrapped it. Fool.

we took a trip from IL to Co in a '70. 340, auto. :) I love the work bench you get when you pop the hood - the top of the fenders! lol
