Well FABO, i figure its time to share the build of my 1973 Swinger I have dubbed "Spacegrass." I have always wanted a Dart since high school.

And with a push from my fiancee, I found one that I wanted. Many thanks to FABO member QKFSH67 for all his help and shop use while we got this going.

Well, while perusing craigslist, I found a 73 out in Columbus, Indiana and got a trailer and drove about 6 hours to pick it up.

It was a real peach. After getting rid of the rattle can paint job on the bumpers, I drove it for a little while before visiting the body shop.

Drove it around all summer and went to a few shows. Won a little hardware and decided it was time to go bigger.

Next was suspension. Revamped K member, switched to manual steering, PST front end kit, PST 1.03 torsion bars, new lower and upper control arms and new KYB shocks. Finished it off with disc brake conversion.

Got a dash pod and had all the pieces hydrodipped in carbon fiber. Went with a Grant steering wheel, autometer sport comp gauges and Scat bucket seats from Jegs

The fuel system needed some help. We originally purchased a Fi-Tech fuel injection system, but it just wasn't going to work out for us. Ended up settling on an Holley 850 Ultra Double Pumper. Champion radiator needed an upgrade. Went with a 26" griffin with big tubes and dual Spal fans

How long time did it take you from start to end?
Looking gooood!
I would have added some stripes or something to that body and color
Took 2 winters. One for body and paint and one for the rebuild.

Has a matte black bumblebee stripe
