Door Panel Question

Hello!

I want to purchase a certain part for my vehicle but can't seem to figure out what the name of it might be. It's the part that sits above the Driver side Door Panel or Passenger, it has a hole for the Door Knob.

My car is a 1974 Plymouth Duster and you can see a part of the "Sill" in the picture that I have posted. Mine is broken in half and I am just trying to find another or find where I can purchase something like that so if anyone has any idea of where I can purchase it and also what It's exact name is, that would be much appreciated.

That is a good name for it but I wonder what the official manufacturer name is for it?
 
Those are called upper door bolsters.

Pieces similar to that are found on the 68-70 Dodge Chargers and some of the third gen B-bodies.
 
Thanks Rick, I would have never guessed that that is what they are called and I struggled for quite some time trying to place a name on them the other day. Would you have any idea of where I can find a part like that or should I just be browsing Craigslist, abodiesonly for sale forums, ebay or a pick a part?

At the present time, I am not aware of any reproduction A-body upper bolsters.

They can be restored just like a dash pad, as they are basically the same style of construction...ie: a vinyl covered foam over a metal core.

So right now, good used pieces are probably your best option.....wherever you might run across them.
 
I still have my actual bolster, it is just cracked down the center but from what you are saying I can actually just take my bolster to a specialist and get it rebuilt?

Would I take it to a reupholsterer?
 
Tony on here is a good source for parts like that, you might talk to him about them.
I bought a really nice set from him here recently and it was very reasonable.
