I have a 1406 with an issue, My brother gave me a 1406 that most likely needs rebuilt.
I noticed his did NOT have a Choke assembly. Can the choke be removed from mine and put on his, or will it need something else or possibly missing screw holes?
Basically I guess my question is, is the 1406 body the same with or without the choke?

Yes they are the same and will exchange.

There is a cast vacuum port near one of the lower choke mount bolts for the choke pull off.

Will have to remove the plug and use the rubber port gasket that is used with your electric choke.

You can also drill through that plug if it is difficult to remove. It is a vac port & exact size is not important.

We were looking to convert an Eddy to an elec choke but never did. I still have throttle shaft and some pieces. There are some slight differences between the 05 and 06 besides the choke.

I probably have the entire choke assembly including the mounting screws for a 1406.
The carb had a broken main body, so I disassembled the entire carb and saved everything off it.

Has anyone modified a choke assembly on to a 1905 avs2 with a (1478 choke kit) made for the 1405 performer carbs. Seems Edelbrock doesn’t make a kit for the newer avs2. It appears to be the same except the fast idle lever.

the 1905 body is different and the choke assembly doesn't work. even the hole in the arm is smaller than the choke rod.

i was shocked to say the least.
