Is there a cam out there that is equivalent to the 508? I've got one in a 360 short block that Im putting together and thinking of going with a different brand with the same specs.
Thanks.

What gears /compression/ intake /exhaust system' s/ transmission? And what different, from that .508 Purple shaft you would like , to improve on? Inquiring minds, need more info.

Not sure on the compression but it has kb107 @ zero deck. RPM Airgap with 750 mech carb
J heads with port work
1 3/4" headers
4.30 gears
904 trans with fmvb.
PTC 3800 conv.
This short block came with the cam and I've had bad luck with the purple shafts in the past so I'd like something like the 508 but a different brand.

Something close, I would consider these , better quality. Check out Comp's Nostalgia/Purple plus line. The PP284 or equivalent to the .508", the PP292. Better ramps, better quality. Myself , I like the Comp HL 285 grind , here( if you have room, for the added lift). Let others chime in, some good cam people here. Best of luck.

Ok, sounds good! I've had great luck with Comp in the past. Ive never heard of the nostalgia/ purple plus line. I'm going to look into it. Thank you!

Better yet, call Jim at Racer Brown.

I would pay for an RB cam rather than use a free Comp.

But that's just me.

What would a phone call cost you?
