As parents we do things for our daughters that we simply wouldn't do for our sons

Sometimes you can look at a guy and go "yup, he's got daughters"

For skating I assume... now you need to smooth it out, looks a little rough. :D
Yes sir, not sure how to smooth it out yet...Ill have to give it some thought

But it's a whole lot more skateble without the 4 inches of snow on it
 

Spray it with water.

my biggest worry would be that after i shut off and disconnect the hose the line leading out of the house would freeze
i have those "frost free" spickets that supposedly dont freeze up but i dont know if that olds true if you run em during the winter
Get the ice auger out, drill a hole in the corner and just keep it running....

i thought about that, my only worry would be getting the water level under the ice low enough to get a lil air underneath it and i have no idea how thick the ice is, not sure if that would weaken it or not

Frost free spigots, the valve is inside the house, pipe from valve to out side is to be sloped to drain the water.
