So when Jacob and I built his high school ride and fabbed up an all steel hood for his 65, we talked about doing it. Now that he has the 408 out for a bearing issue, I decided to surprise him.
Since the original build, I came across another pair of bezels that were already cut out. So...... Finally making the scoops 100% open.
I still need to trim the underside of the hood out and get the yellow to be silver, but y'all get the idea.
As long as he doesn't drive it in a hard rain, he'll be alright.

Very cool !

Looks good Mark. I have a friend who opened the scoops on a Challenger hood back in the day. Pretty much just like you did there. He was worried about the rain since it was still a daily driver, so he made some slip in plugs that stopped the holes up if it rained. He stole a few plastic food trays from Dairy Queen, cut them out with a jig saw to fit the openings, then attached black pipe insulation to the backs to retain it in the holes when he pushed the foam inside the openings, leaving the plastic pieces facing out. Worked pretty good! His Challenger was black, so he swiped the Dairy Queen trays because they were black....instead of the brown ones at McDonalds...lol.
