I am 73, and I used to build models when I was a kid. A friend of mine is into building models big time, and he wanted to build a 69 barracuda model and try to make it look exactly like my 69 barracuda. So I got an Iwata airbrush and a small airbrush compressor from Amazon. I have a 1/18 diecast model of a 69 barracuda that I have been planning on painting F8 Green for a long time. I took the hood off of it, stripped it down, sprayed some Tamia primer on it, and then painted it with some leftover F8 green urethane, basecoat clearcoat. The transition to using an airbrush was pretty easy, since I have a lot of hours with a paint gun in my hand. I have been watching videos on YouTube that show you how to cut the doors and decklid out of the model body and put hinges on them so they open. I’m going to try to go crazy with this model. If I like it, I might build more.

Looks good. I used to do model kits alot. I haven't built one In almost 20 years I still have my old equipment I have really been thing about getting back into it. I have several that I started on 20 plus years ago and never finished id like to complete. I have a air brush compressor idk where the gun for it is but I'm sure I could buy a new one. A couple years ago I dug out some of my old ones that I completed and took some pictures

Good move getting an airbrush. They make a huge difference in the quality of the finished model, and Iwata is one of the best brands available. I have an Iwata HPBC that I’ve used since the late eighties and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made. I’ll be very interested in seeing your updates on this kit going forward.
