Have had this new fuel pump in the garage since around 2013, any issues with using it. Any shelf life?
Thanks

2013 should be late enough that it won't have rubber that will be eaten by the newer fuel additives. But it's late enough that the quality of rubber has changed dramatically and for the worse. Rubber oxidizes when exposed to air, so, it can deteriorate just sitting on the shelf.

That being said, the only way to know if it's gonna work is to run it, and 12 years shouldn't be beyond its life expectancy anyway.

I put a new mechanical pump that has been sitting on the shelf in my garage for over 10 years it worked fine.

This is an interesting question.
Over the years, I have cleared out collections of parts from a lot of people that got out of the hobby. I've picked up several fuel pumps among other things. Last year I had a fuel delivery issue where even with gas in the tank and good rubber lines, no fuel was making it up to the carburetor.
Bad fuel pump, right? You'd think so.
I pulled a pump from my stash and swapped it. NO change. I grabbed another, still nothing. I took the second one and put it on another running car and yeah....it was dead. Both of these pumps were clean and had never been installed though they were many years old.
A third pump worked just fine....it looked as good as the other two but it actually moved the fuel.

So far, so good. Started it up with the new pump this morning, and went for a ride down the street
