i wonder if my 340 has 5\16 lines on it and put 3\8 lines will run better It just from fuel pump to carb

Not unless your car is a all out 10 second race car. A 5/16 line will support an 11 sec. car easily. I don't have the figures for fuel required to support it but I've seen many guys run 5/16 line on 11 second cars with no problems of fuel starvation.
