Glove box latch

I was trying to remove the glove box latch from my 74 Dart but have had no luck. There is a small hole in the center of the knob. I tried to push a small paper clip in the hole trying to release something but nothing. What is the secret to removing?

I had the same problem with my 73 . Ended up taking it to a locksmith that made it look so easy I was a little embarrased . But its been long enough ago I can't remember . But if it was that easy , I'll bet any good locksmith around you could do the same thing . Mine didn't even charge me . It was that easy . Not much help , sorry.
