I think I may sell my magnum heads and save up for a set of edelbrocks.

To use the magnums I'll need springs, retainers, locks and seal, A valve job, slight mill to clean them up, machining for retainer clearance with my cam. and a intake. About $800 when done.

I could swap on some new springs and hope for the best but I'll end up kicking myself in the end. And If I went with a smaller cam I wouldnt have to machine the guides down.

Another $600 gets me the Edelbrocks.

The car goes in the garage this weekend.

I figure if I sell the magnums heads it will only cost me an extra $600 to have a much better head to start off with.

Where do you see Edelbrock heads for $1400? When I got mine I think I paid either $1100 or $1200 for mine from summit. I went through the same thing thats how I ended up with Edelbrock heads also. For a stock rebuild, nothing fancy, of a pair of J heads all the shops around here wanted $800 also.

Thats including the ARP bolts and gaskets to put it together.

I still think the Magnum heads are the way to go for a milder build up but I think it wont take long for me to out grow them.

This is true! I don't think I even have 2000 miles on my motor yet and I have thought of some stuff I would like to do to it allready! :)
