To those of you that buy or sell on the forum, it is nice to have an easy, no hassle sales transaction where both sides are happy with the deal.
Yesterday I got a PM from a guy that saw a comment I made about a hood latch. He wanted one that I had, I set a fair price and estimated shipping, he sent the money so I went to the Post Office to ship it.
Now, this was not a big dollar sale. I'm talking ten bucks for a latch here. I saw that it fit in a small Flat Rate box that used to cost around 9 bucks so I rounded up to $20 total sale. I get to the Post Office to find that they increased shipping costs for the holiday season and intend to lower them back down December 31st. The $9 rate was now $12.60. I went ahead and shipped it since I agreed to do so. As always, I sent a picture of the receipt with tracking number and I mentioned the shipping cost price increase.
It was my fault for not confirming before I gave a price. DionR was under no obligation but he sent the additional $2.60 to cover the difference.
Okay, this is not a huge amount of money but this was an honorable gesture. He could have kept quiet and washed his hands of it all but he stepped up.
I thank you again Sir for the thoughtful act.

It's kind of a two way street. You went to the post office and the price was different at which time you could have pushed pause and asked for the difference, but you didn't. You shipped the part and expected to eat the loss. For that I thank you.

It only seemed right that since we agreed on $10 + shipping, that I should make it right.

Thanks!
