I have a Gull Wing to install on my Duster, and fortunately since the truck lid has the cut-outs for the mounting brackets it appears the installation should be fairly straight forward. However, I do have one question. When attaching the wing to the mounting posts, should the wing adjustment bolt be to the inside or outside of the post? Or does it not make a difference?

OMG, I reluctantly clicked to read fearing Gull Wing was referring to you putting Lambo style doors on your car. I have only heard them called Go Wing. Need more coffee. Whew

Same thing i thought.. clicked the link waiting to see the disaster unfold :)

I think that Gull-wing and Go-wing are not similar.
I don't really know their differences, but they are different
Maybe be a matter of years of production
The Go Wing was a factory option on '70 and early '71 Dusters. The Gull Wing became a dealer option for later '71 - 76 Dusters. The difference is how the ends dip down. The ends of the Go Wing has a sharper bend which causes the tips to point more down while the Gull Wing has a less sharp bend. Also '70 and '71 Dusters came with the cut outs inside the trunk lid to facilitate the mounting plates. The trunk lids on Dusters after '71 have to be cut to install the mounting plates.

Not all later deck lids have to be cut. Some ribbed deck lids late 71 and up to early 73 had the spoiler holes. I had a couple over the years. Also My original 1971 Demon Came off the truck at the dealer with a gull wing. I had several since 1971 and only ever had one with a go-wing but several with gull wings. The gold demon picture above came with a gull wing but it broke and I installed the go wing from another car.
