Headers vs. Manifolds

-
The Hedman 78030 fits nicely with a few minor dings . manual steering and a mini starter is needed.
This will be my plan, as I've seen multiple people on the A-Body Big Block forum say the same thing. I've got manual steering on my duster and the 383 already had a mini starter installed. I use this forum for knowledge and experience from the people that have already been there done that, so I have to have a certain level of trust when I hear the same thing from multiple members. Of course, I'll give my feedback on the install, so others in the same boat can decide if they want to go this route. Thanks!

Found the Jeg's headers (P/N 30081) on sale for under $200, so pulled the trigger on those and have them heading my way.

I bet you will need a BFH. Hope they fit. I know how tight the TTi's are.

Good deal. With ported heads, the difference in running headers will be a good bit more. Jim Laroy did some manifold testing and found literally zero difference between stock and HP big block manifolds, so the "HP" manifolds are really good for nothing.

Did they fit?
Wish I could tell you! Between the 100-degree Texas days, my non-A/C shop, and life's other challenges, progress is SLOWWWW. I fell off of one of our horses 2 weeks ago and seriously busted my a$$, still recovering. That's one of life's challenges getting in the way, lol.

I hear you on the heat, it hit 100 plus here in W Md. the last 2 days, 90s plus humidity the last 2 weeks. You can have the horses I prefer cats, easier to take care of. Good luck with the recovery.

You'd love it here, 109 with no humidity
