Help 85 318 Rebuild To Np435

Alright so where to start
Traded my pos BMW for a pos dodge 78 turns out its a 85 318, 302 heads, 360 offenhauser intake 4 barrel carbon, bolted to a idk what year np435 I want to start with the motor so I yanked the powertrain out and ripped the motor apart

Main questions
- going to get a engine tech rebuild kit good bad ok, not looking for more then 400 Hp out of this thing if I could get 300plus if be happy
- what is the biggest cam I can use without getting all new springs, lifters,blah blah,
- is it worth increasing the valve sizes, will that mean new springs?
- how much should heads be ported
- if I get new pistons is it worth getting kb167 or something to get zero deck after machining block
- does the offenhauser intake even flow good enough for what I'm trying to do

Any help would be great basically I don't have alot of money so I don't want to put a cam and have to replace all the vavletrain,

Also are stock rockers ok for a big cam
 
There is no cam you can get without all the blah blah blah. If you don't get the right springs and new lifters to match the cam, collect stamps or something.

You may want to look at some of Mancini Racing's engine rebuild kits... they start from basic and build to a little more...

Welcome to the site. Plenty of people willing to help but you need to make it easier for people to help. Try being more clear with your goals, take care to write clearer with better grammar too.
CHEAP.... RELIABLE....POWERFUL. Good luck getting all three together! You can get two of them but all three ???
You'd be better off finding a 50,000 5.2 or 5.9 Magnum engine from a Dakota or a van and use it instead. Those engines made decent power and will run 250,000 miles or more with regular maintenance. Swap a 4 barrel intake and a 600 cfm 4 barrel Holley and you'd have a 300 HP engine with dual exhaust.
The 435 is a 4 speed trans with a super low 1st gear.

NP435 is a New Process 4 speed truck transmission with a double low 1st gear. You know, granny gear? Like Kern Dog said.
 
Like was allready mentioned, a magnum 5.2 or 5.9 is by far the best way to go in my opinion...most likely cheaper to swap in a good used one, than to rebuild what you have.
 
Just a thought on the trans here, you didnt say weather it was 2wd or 4wd, 1/2 or 3/4 ton, but assuming it was a 1/2 2wd, you would be WAY better off mating it to a a833 or a833od trans, way better 1st gear and really all gears for that matter and easy/cheap to find, these trans were available on these truck from the factory, also agree will all info said above, BTW, welcome to the site and good luck with your build, lots of helpful people here.
