Help buying first classic car - 1964 Dodge Dart GT

-
It is not my body style, and I agree 12k is high, to be nice. But nothing is getting cheaper.

Now, yesterday I spotted this. If that is a car that cranks your engine, this looks like a nice little machine. 1965 Plymouth Valiant They state rust free. That is a big claim. But only eyes on a car will tell the truth. I have seen a lot of good deals lately. Take your time. Patience is a virtue……

To hell with that, if I wanted patience I would have gone to medical school! :)
That looks like a much better option.

Look very closely at the cowl area as this is a common rust area on A bodies, I would poke my head up under the dash and look for signs of rust and water leakage.

Overall it looks in good shape. Most of that age have some rust. Rear sides with red are an indication that at some point the rear window or trunk seals allowed water in. Check each inside floor to panel pockets and underside weep holes. If the engine runs as good as it looks, and other concerns are checked out as ok or fixable, I say it would be a nice driver.
