Help--tell me whar center section I have-

Just got the duster home and back on the lift,Going to be taking the center section out to get it freshened up.here is what the numbers are
2070741--- is this the bigger pinion or the smaller pinion??? Thanks Steve

741 case the smaller of the three, 741, 742 and 489. That case will be fine in a street car.

OOH, I think I'd want the 489 minimum. A buddy of mine runs a 489 case in his car hits it with 600hp at 3400 off the trans brake and it seems to do fine.

You can put the sure grip unit itself in the 489 but you can not put the gears from the 741 or 742, into a 489
