Help with engine #'s

Hi

I looked at a car today that has had an engine change. The widow of the guy that changed it could not remember what size it was. The best I could see on the side of the block,(didn't have my reading glasses) was the #'s 8496.361. Could the 1 be a 0 and it is a 360? Please help. Thanks.............Steve

They did make 361's ya know.
Question is what are you talking about?

I know about the 361 and a suppose that could be it. It was in a 1972 Charger. So he could have put in an older engine. The # 430 was on the pan. Any help?

Look on the front drivers side of the block just below the cylinder head. There is usually the engine size marked there in small stamp print. I can be very hard sometimes to read depending on how much crap is on there and whether it is rusted.
