holley electric fuel pump issue

i got a magnum 318 in my barracuda and those dont accept mechanical fuel pumps so i went and got a holley electric unit. due to serious wiring issues i have with my car, im not getting power to the coil (working on that as im typing) and my fuel pump is wired, through a toggle switch to the coil. when i fix the wire and turn on the toggle switch, should the fuel pump make a noise?

Yes, you should hear the pump running.

if i read your post right you have wired the pump to the coil?
if this is so, i would not do it.
maybe you could wire the pump directly to the battery with a
heavy amp relay in between the pos. wire, then run the relay
from the toogle switch.
i think your coil is lower voltage than 12v in run position and the
pump is a high amp draw item.
it would pobably kill your ign system at the least.
