Hood Scoop Seals

Thinking seriously about orderign all the goods to install the scoops on my 71' Duster, the catalog lists hood scoop seals. Just curious where and what they seal. Also looking for a template, I see some pics on the forum but still a little nervous.

Those are the round seals that don't seal a thing. They go around the edge of the holes in the hood. I think they may help keep water from running into the engine compartment if the hood is wet.

So for the 70 bucks they want for them I'm sure I can come up with something that does the same thing then for cheaper.

Yeah, most cars don't even have them. I think they blew off.
