HOW do you tell if u have a rear main seal leak?

How can you tell, can you see it, can you smell it (I smell an oil smell), does the 4 spd flywheel start slipping? Any help is appre....also, rib's are welcome since this might fall into dumb ? of the day. Thanks

If you have a rear main leak, look for oil on the ground in back of the engin. Oil in the bellhousing. if you can smell it I would check valve covers and intake(oil dripping on exhaust), also check around the oil filter.
