are there on a 71 dart p/s gear on the worm gear that attaches to the coupler? i counted 35, 3 times. but did not include the open spot.

36. The "open spot" (master spline) counts as a spline. If you're ordering a coupler or U-joint, make sure you order the CHRYSLER spline- there are standard and GM splines out there, too; and even though they're all 36 splines, they are different style (shape) splines and will not work.
thank you pf. that is what i am considering doing. going to try to make a dodge truck tilt column fit the 71 dart.
Contact Jeff @ Borgeson - vendor on this site. I told him what i was going to do in my 65 Dart- stock 65 PS box and 80/81 M/J tilt column and he provided the info to connect the two with their U Joints and double D bar
