Apologies if this is a dumb question or the answer is already on this forum. I have looked.

I am in the UK and viewing a 69 Roadrunner 440. It's a recent California import. My question is, how can I positively identify it as a genuine Roadrunner and not a clone or fake?

Thanks in advance for your help.

PS - sorry to remove one of your own from its native land. I promise to look after it well and return it to you when the oil runs out. Meantime it's going to turn some heads in London.

I used the VIN decoder and the results are below. I'm not familiar with this format. Is it telling me this was a Satellite originally? Or is it confirming it as a Roadrunner?

Sorry again for the basic nature of my questions but advice is much appreciated. Simon

Just to let you know, If the vin starts out with a "R" for Satellite, and a "M" for Medium Price class, it is a Roadrunner. Remember that only two engines were available in the Roadrunner, that year. A 383, 335hp, and the 426 Hemi. The 440 6BBL. was not available until mid year, and of course this engine code is "M". Hope this helps. Mark Coudriet
