I let some smoke out of my wiring harness this weekend

So has anyone ever had an ignition switch go bad and fry the fusible link and melt some wiring?
 
Uh oh! You're never supposed to let the smoke out of electrical components! That's what keeps them working!

Sometimes they build up too much smoke and you HAVE to let some out. The switches can only hold so much.
 
remember the electrons DO know the color of the wires. and get mad if the wire is the wrong color.

No but have had thd ammeter guage ground to the cluster and do it, i changed it from a fusible link and wired in a fuse holder with a 30amp fuse, have to watch if its melted back close to the bulkhead its a pain to fix
