I need a shrink

Just hoping someone can settle me down. Brand new engine lost all oil pressure and started knocking like hell before I realized what was happening.
The dipstick is dinged up and doesnt want to go in the pan? Could it be the pick up. If this engine got trashed I will be pissed...lots of coin in it.

The pick up tube from your oil pump may have vibrated loose.
I have herd that it is a good idea to tack weld the tub to the pump.
Sorry to here about this. I hope all you have done was dropped a pick up
tube and just have to do a oil pan gasket change.8)

Thanks....I am looking at short block prices now just to prepare for the worst. Many choices out there. Any suggestions on who builds a good short block with a good price.
