How do you install the top nut? How do you keep the shaft from spinning when installing the nut?

use a wrench and hold the shaft on the flat spot on the top of the shaft, a cresent wrench works well on the flat part.


Or just use an impact

usually the nut will tighten without spinning the shaft from the resistance in the bushings.
