I think I've located the source of the water in my oil and am looking for conformation from some one who has had these issues. The intake seems to have been modified or hacked as well. I've attached some photos of what looks like evidence of a failed intake gasket and the intake bolt hole gong show on the holley strip dominator. It looks as though the intake has had other holes drilled in it and may not ever seal properly. Does someone want to chime in before I scrap it?

Thanks a TON

whats the history of this car/engine/manifold?
Is this something someone else put together I'm asuming it is because you would have known of the secondary holes prior to mounting the intake.
I think you need to establish why those holes were drilled .
are the bolts going into your heads going through the original holes or the drilled holes? I guess what I'm getting at is was this manifold modified to fit this engine or was it on another engine prior? If it was modified to fit your engine is there a problem with the way the mounting flanges line up to the heads . Heads cut or block decked changing the angle of the mating surface?
If possible see how a manifold that has not been modified in any way sits on your engine see if the angle of the flanges is parrallel to the angle of the heads. That's where I'd start...

I know the guy who put the manifold on and can ask him if he drilled the holes or no. I never considered any decking. I'll look into that.

Thanks

Just looking at the intake the two rear and two front holes are the single, original holes and line up. only the holes near the centre are doubled up or slotted. I may have been for a different motor and got modified.

Rethinking my earlier reply:read2: ...
If sealing surface angle(s) was a problem you would most likely have had driveability issues due to vacuum leaks .If that was not the case maybe just check the sufaces -manifold and heads with a good straightedge.
If everything checks out I'd use a good quality intake gasket set no end gaskets just a good bead of silicone but no silicone around the water passage .

No silicone around the water passage. Maybe that was the initial problem as the previous owner put a ton there.

Thanks for the advice.
