This has got to be the longest cam swap ever... I started back in March. Finally got it all done. New radiator installed, too. Got the car fired up yesterday, the first crank I found I had the distributor 180 degrees out. Fixed that, hit the ignition button and it fired right up!

This cam sounds mean. I had a Crane 216/228 454/480 lift cam in it before, now I've got a Lunati 234/242 513/533 lift cam. Big difference in the sound! I ran in in the garage for 20 minutes or so to break in the cam, and the temp didn't go over 160.

Tomorrow it leaves the garage... as long as there's no issues (leaks, or whatever) they'll be a new set of black strips out in the street, then it goes up on the trailer so I can make a trip to the rack this weekend.

Great ! glad you got her in and spinning.
234/242 513/533 man that thing should talk to you.
Congratulations Mike! What time tomorrow will the car leave garage.
6:00 am would help everyone get up and smell the rubber.

let us know how the strip trip turns out. Did you check for spring bind, piston to valve clearance and spring pressures?
