License plate bulb

OK, the old bulb burned out so I thought no big deal. I replaced it but no go. Any ideas?

I have been trying to locate a new socket for my license plate bulb also. Mine needs to be placed in the socket at a particular difficult angle for the damn bulb to light. Once I get it set in the socket it will work but it is a PITA. I tried electrical contact cleaner on the socket without much success.

I just found a link to what looks like the correct socket on E Bay and it's cheap!!!! I just ordered one, Here is the link:

That's not what I have on my 72. It takes "97" bulb.

Well I will see if it is the same as the one on my 73' If not no biggie, it was less than 10 bucks. The plug looks to be the same as the one on my car.

Good luck mine is a round twist in type bulb. That looks like a push in type bulb.
